The Mesa City Clerk's Office has received a campaign finance complaint and opened an investigation to determine if text messages sent regarding Mesa's Question 1 violate state election law.
Recently, Mesa residents have been targeted from an entity that uses anonymous sources to mislead and confuse voters. This organization is not registered with the Clerk's Office or may not exist.
Question 1 on Home Rule allows local control of the City of Mesa's annual budget. It permits the City of Mesa to fully fund services like the Mesa Police Department and Mesa Fire and Medical Department.
