Mesa and Oakland A's host Pitch, Hit & Run and Jr. Home Run Derby at Hohokam Stadium

City of Mesa Youth Sports and the Oakland Athletics will be hosting Pitch, Hit and Run and the Jr. Home Run Derby, Feb. 19, at Hohokam Stadium, 1235 N. Center St. The event is free and open to boys and girls ages 7 to 14. A's players will be at the event.

Visit www.pitchhitrun.com and www.JrHRD.com for rules and to pre-register. Onsite registration and check-in on Feb. 19 is from 5 to 6 p.m. with the event starting at 6 p.m. All participants will receive a free ticket to the A's vs. Chicago White Sox game at Hohokam Stadium Saturday, Feb. 23. All overall winners receive two free tickets to that game and get to go down on the field before the game where their names will be announced.

Pitch, Hit and Run, presented by Scotts, is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. Participants can advance through four levels of competition. The Junior Home Run Derby includes three levels of competition. The top performers nationally from both events will advance to the National Finals during MLB All-Star Week.
