Mesa participates in Operation Gratitude

August 29, 2019 at 10:10 am

In memory of 9/11 fallen heroes, the City of Mesa is hosting an Operation Gratitude letter writing campaign. Between now and Sept. 11, you are encouraged to write a letter or card to a first responder (fire, police, paramedic), deployed troop, new recruit or veteran. All deserve to be thanked for their commitment and bravery! You can get letter writing tips at www.operationgratitude.com/express-your-thanks/write-letters.

You can drop off cards or letters at the Operation Gratitude box at 20 E. Main St. in the Mesa City Plaza lobby or mail to: P.O. Box 1466, Mesa, AZ 85211 c/o Volunteer Programs Operation Gratitude. They should be delivered or postmarked by 9/11/19.

Operation Gratitude, founded in 2003, has a two-fold mission: to lift morale in the military and first responder communities and create volunteer opportunities for American citizens to express appreciation to those who serve our nation. Each year, volunteers fill, assemble and ship more than 200,000 Operation Gratitude Care Packages containing bundles of letters. Recipients say the letters, cards and drawings are the most cherished items in the box.
