Santa Claus will be getting away from the North Pole a few times to visit downtown Mesa as part of Merry Main Street. Jolly Ol' Saint Nick will be taking Christmas wishes and be available for photos from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the following weekends at Mesa's Christmas Tree, 1 N. Macdonald:

Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7
Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14
Friday, Dec. 20 and Saturday, Dec. 21

Visit with Santa for free and bring your phone or camera to take a picture!

Santa's sELFie Village allows you to create a special holiday card photo at the Mesa Christmas Tree or at the 10 Santa sELFie stations located near the tree and along Main Street. Each sELFie pod has a different holiday greeting, such as "Merry Christmas," "Seasons Greetings," "Feliz Navidad" and "Happy Hanukkah."

Santa and his sELFie Village aren't the only thing special about Merry Main Street. The Winter Wonderland Ice Rink offers the lowest general admission price in the valley at $10 for one hour of skating, which includes skate rental. Tickets are $8 per person for groups of 20 or more. You can purchase tickets at the rink or online at www.merrymainst.com.

Weekday specials are now available at the ice rink through Dec. 19:

Mondays are "Family Night" from 5 p.m. to 10 pm. Bring the whole family and skate for only $8 per person
Tuesdays are "Two-fer Tuesday" from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. You and a friend or significant other can skate two for the price of one $10 general admission
