Mesa's water is safe, clean, reliable

Mesa, AZ - The City of Mesa Water Resources prioritizes the safety and health of the community and conducts water monitoring and testing to ensure drinking water is safe, clean, and reliable. Wells near the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport contaminated by polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs) are not in use or part of the water distribution system. They have been out of service since the early 2,000's and do not affect Mesa's water supply. These wells are decommissioned, capped off, and do not have pumps.

There are currently no drinking water standards for PFAS, but the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has developed the Lifetime Health Advisory for perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOs) and perfluorooactanoic acid (PFOA) in drinking water to be used by federal, state, and local drinking water system operators as guidance while determining potential human health effects if consumed above specific concentrations through one's lifetime. The approved drinking water method has a detection limit of 5 parts per trillion.

When you turn on your tap in Mesa, you can rest assured that your drinking water is safe, clean, and meets all state and federal drinking water standards.
