Although cooler weather prevails right now, spring will be here soon. Registration is underway for Mesa residents for the City of Mesa's Parks and Recreation spring programs. Registration for non-Mesa residents begins Monday, Jan. 10 at 8 a.m.
Youth Sports programs for Mesa and non-Mesa residents include swim lessons, soccer, archery, track and field, golf, basketball and a playball multi-sport clinic. Adult sports programs offered this spring include softball, volleyball, kickball, flag football and Recess for Adults, which offers a new sport or game each week. Tennis, pickleball, adaptive sport, lifeguard training and special interest classes are available for both adults and youth.

Mesa Parks and Recreation's goal is to keep kids and adults active in sports while following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for safety. Masks are optional and participants must follow the physical distancing protocol of six feet or greater when possible. The program will provide frequent cleaning procedures to disinfect hands, surfaces and equipment.
