A cutting-edge, woman-owned international aerospace business in an overwhelmingly male dominated industry has relocated from Reno, Nevada to Mesa. KP Aviation celebrated the grand opening of its new headquarters this morning at 7943 E. Ray Road in the Mesa Gateway District.
'I'm so pleased that KP Aviation chose to locate its headquarters in Mesa," said Mayor John Giles. "The Gateway Airport area is an excellent location for aerospace facilities and KP Aviation is an exciting and timely addition that will help meet the needs of the industry."
KP Aviation's new facility in Mesa features more than 93,000 square feet, more than twice the size of its Reno operation, plus an additional 15,000 square feet for outdoor storage. The company plans to hire more employees each year as the business expands.
"The investment and jobs that KP Aviation is bringing to our community is exactly what we have been striving for, and the fact that they landed in Mesa is great for the Gateway area, our citizens and the region," said District 6 Councilmember Kevin Thompson.
KP Aviation qualified for the Inc. 5000 fastest growing privately owned companies for two consecutive years. The company has expanded to include employees in the United Kingdom, Spain and South Africa.
"When we looked across the country for KP Aviation's new headquarters, Arizona quickly became the front runner. On top of being a major international aviation hub with pro-business regulations, the southeast valley is ranked amongst the best places to live, retire and attend public school in America. With 300 sunny days a year in Mesa, the future for KP Aviation looks bright," said Kim Schulze, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of KP Aviation
Companies KP Aviation works with include Boeing, UPS, DHL, American Airlines, Air Canada, Atlas Air, General Electric and Pratt & Whitney.
