Small business owners based in Mesa can access several free resources - via Mesa Business Builder (MBB) - to help them develop skills needed to grow their business. The three MBB programs are Mesa Business Builder Small Business Assistance Program, Mesa HUUB and MesaBusinessBuilder.com.
"We want to see Mesa's small business community succeed. They are the backbone of our local economy," Mesa Economic Development Director Bill Jabjiniak said. "Mesa Business Builder programs were developed to provide resources small business owners need to thrive."
Applications are now opened for the MBB Small Business Assistance Program, which provides eligible companies with fewer than 25 employees a package of customized services based on need. Professional subject matter experts may assist developing business plans, creating a marketing and social media strategy, designing a website, prepping a financial plan and more. The program does not provide direct financial assistance.
The program is available on a first-come, first-served basis until June 30, 2023, or until funds are exhausted for the program year. To be eligible, businesses must be for-profit and Mesa-based. Businesses must provide a W-9 and proof of a Mesa business address. In addition, businesses in the program must use services within 90 days of their application approval.
Mesa businesses also are encouraged to sign up for Mesa HUUB to access more than 100 free webinars, learn about available grants, find a calendar of training and events, and network with other Mesa businesses. The free online community has about 450 members.
On MesaBusinessBuilder.com, prospective and exiting business owners can find competitive industry analysis through Mesa SizeUp, find available properties on Mesa SiteSearch, research permits and codes, pull demographic data, and more. In addition, find business groups, coworking space and other resources that can help your business.
Economic Development Project Manager Kelley Keffer notes Mesa's commitment to providing meaningful assistance for the business community. "Investing in our entrepreneurs and small businesses by offering paid professional services and resources to help them grow, become more resilient, and add to their long-term success is a true commitment to supporting a sustainable local economy for the future," she said.
