First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona were joined by Mesa Mayor John Giles, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and educational administrators at Mesa Community College to recognize the collaborative success of the Mesa College Promise program.
The Mesa College Promise is a public-private partnership providing financial support for students with demonstrated financial needs who have not received enough Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) funds or other scholarships to completely cover the cost of college. Funding is provided from the City of Mesa and Mesa businesses and philanthropists and is administered through the Maricopa County Community College District Foundation. The Program is a commitment from the City of Mesa to its residents that all eligible graduating Mesa high school students can attend Mesa Community College for two years with Arizona resident tuition and fees fully funded.
The donors for 2022-2023 Mesa College Promise are Apple, AT&T, CDW-G, Dexcom, IronMan Foundation, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., Meta, SRP and Verizon.
