Mesa celebrates its All-America City Award with a throwback, free hometown event on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. downtown along Macdonald between Main Street and Pepper Place. The free event showcases our community's diversity through youth performances, local entertainment, games and more!
"The All-America City Award is a testament to Mesa's commitment to programs that engage our youth to support their growth and success, and All-America City Day is a fun and informative way to do that," said Mayor John Giles.
All-America City Day will feature three stages with more than 20 community performances, including live music, dance groups and a youth mariachi band. Activities throughout the event will include a petting zoo, a life-like cow milking game, axe throwing, tricycle racing, cornhole, face painting, sack racing, artist displays and food vendors. The Post, downtown's newest community and event space located at 26 N. Macdonald, will feature an All-America City Gallery with photos and information.
Mesa received the 2023 All-America City Award for youth programs that encourage engagement, education attainment and service. The prestigious award by the National Civic League is bestowed every year to ten municipalities or counties that are directly impacting the lives of their residents.
