The City of Mesa has announced the opening of the Mesa Business Builder (MBB) Small Business Assistance Program for the new program year. This award-winning initiative offers FREE expert personalized guidance from professional advisors and consultants to help Mesa businesses grow.
Since 2021, the Program has helped more than 360 Mesa businesses. During fiscal year 23-24, 165 small businesses received more than $349,000 in services that included website development, strategic planning, signage, photo/video production, tax advising, and more. Qualified Mesa businesses are matched with subject matter experts to receive one-on-one consulting services tailored to the unique needs of their business to help hone their competitive edge.
Additionally, the MBB Small Business Assistance Program offers Mesa Business Builder Educates U. Participants in the Program can take college classes at Mesa Community College in 14 certificate programs with tuition and course fees paid by the program. Last program year, 24 students from 21 Mesa businesses took 145 college credit hours.
"We are pleased to offer Mesas small businesses with unparalleled support and resources to help them grow and thrive in our City. We understand how small businesses struggle to wear all the hats in operating and we aim to help them with certain aspects of operations such as marketing or strategic planning," said Mesa Economic Development Director Jaye O'Donnell. "Small businesses and entrepreneurs are the economic engine for the local economy, and ours make Mesa unique."
To qualify for the program, businesses must be located in the City of Mesa, be a for-profit company, and have a Mesa General Business License, or other qualifying Mesa license.
