Mesa Needs Volunteers for Love Your City - National Day of Service Sept. 7

August 21, 2024 at 11:00 am

The City of Mesa will recognize Love Your City National Day of Service with several citywide volunteer projects on Saturday, Sept. 7. Start times range from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. before temperatures climb. All the projects will end by noon.

Volunteer projects will be taking place in each City Council district. Projects include a garden build at Paz de Cristo, fence restoration at the historic Alston House, park and alley cleanups, curb number painting to help first responders and multiple Mesa Public School projects.

The City still needs volunteers. Information is available online. Groups interested in volunteering for a project should contact the Mesa Citywide Volunteer Coordinator, Katie Pollak, at volunteer@mesaaz.gov.

The City of Mesa is partnering with JustServe to combine Love Your City with National Day of Service, which is observed on or near 9/11 to commemorate the acts of courage of first responders and the country mourning together in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks.
