Mesa Public Library is pleased to announce a National Library Card Sign-Up Month celebration during September, offering registered library cardholders the opportunity to win a variety of raffle prizes, including a $250 gift card to Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch, a one-year membership to the Arizona Museum of Natural History, a Kindle Fire 7 and more.
This initiative aims to encourage both new and existing library cardholders to discover all the amazing experiences their library card can offer, both within and beyond the library.
A Mesa Public Library card provides access to a wide array of resources and services for free. Patrons can borrow not only books and movies but also unique items including hiking kits, garden seeds, cake pans and Culture Passes. Additionally, cardholders can enjoy digital services such as downloadable e-books, streaming movies and music, and educational platforms like LinkedIn Learning, among many others.
Mesa Public Library cards are free for anyone who lives in Maricopa County for at least 30 consecutive days a year, or who works, owns property or attends school within the County.
Individuals who do not currently have a Mesa Public Library card are encouraged to apply either online or by visiting a full-service library branch in person. Mesa Public Library has three full-service branches:
Main Library, 64 E. First St.
Dobson Ranch Library, 2425 S. Dobson Road
Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road
Existing cardholders should verify that their Mesa Public Library card is active by checking their online account. Cards that are expired, or within 30 days of expiring, may be renewed onlineor in person.
After signing up or verifying their card is active, patrons can fill out theonline formto enter the raffle.
Additionally, during Library Card Sign-Up Month in Mesa, current Mesa Public Library cardholders can exchange their old card or replace a lost card, for free (usually a two-dollar charge), as long as there are no fines or fees on the account. Mesa Public Library, along with libraries everywhere, continues to adapt and expand services to meet the evolving needs of our community. In 2020, Mesa Public Library followed the local and national trend of waiving overdue fines and fees.
