Mesa to Host First-Ever "Noon Year's Eve Celebration"

December 30, 2024 at 8:38 am

Downtown Mesa is diving into 2025 early with its inaugural "Noon Year's Eve Celebration," a family-friendly event featuring Mesa's iconic Diving Lady in a unique daytime countdown. The free event will take place on Dec. 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the intersection of Main and MacDonald Streets.

Hosted by Mesa Mayor John Giles and produced by the Downtown Mesa Association, this celebration brings a fresh twist to traditional New Year's festivities by making them accessible to visitors and families with children of all ages. The noon countdown will culminate in an aerial acrobatics performance, colorful pyrotechnic displays and a sparkling apple cider toast.

"Who says you have to wait until midnight to celebrate?" Mayor John Giles said. "Here in Mesa, we're throwing a Noon Year's Eve party so everyone-from early risers to families with little ones-can ring in 2025 without losing any sleep.

Mesa's Noon Year's Eve Celebration will feature activities and entertainment throughout the day including:

Live music by Chuck E. Baby and the All-Stars
Interactive fun with the East Valley Bubble Truck
On-site picture booths
Face painting
Free crafts and cookie decorating

"Downtown Mesa continues to grow as a destination for unique community experiences," said Terry Madeksza, President and Executive Director of the Downtown Mesa Association. "This celebration represents exactly what makes our downtown special - creative programming that brings our community together while highlighting Mesa's distinctive cultural elements, like our cherished Diving Lady."

The event is made possible through the generous support of Fiber First and Visit Mesa. For more information about the Noon Year's Eve Celebration, visit https://downtownmesa.com/events/noon-years-eve-celebration.
