Mesa Aquatics Offering Lots of Late Summer and Fall Activities

While City Public Pools have closed for daily public swimming now that school is back in session, Mesa Aquatics is offering many engaging and healthy pool events and activities in the coming weeks.

- Dive-In Movie - Brimhall Aquatic Complex, 5035 E. Southern Ave., Saturday, Aug. 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Lounge in the pool while enjoying Disney's "Brave" on the inflatable screen under the stars. Tubes are provided on a first come, first serve basis. Admission is $7. Pre-registration is recommended.

- Weekend Swimming - Skyline Aquatic Center, 845 S. Crismon Road and Rhodes Aquatic Complex, 1860 S. Longmore, which are open on Saturdays and Sundays, will stay open on weekends through Sunday, Aug. 31.

- Adaptive Program - The Adaptive Sports programs for individuals with development disabilities ages 6 and up includes an Adaptive Swim Team.

- Lap Swim - Lap swim for ages 13 and up is available at Kino Aquatic Center, 848 N. Horne, and Skyline Aquatic Center, 845 S. Crismon. Fall lap passes are $120 for individuals (discounted to $90 through Aug. 21) and $75 for seniors (discounted to $56 through Aug. 21).

- Water Aerobics - Water exercise classes are available for ages 13 and up at Kino Aquatic Center, 848 N. Horne, and Skyline Aquatic Center, 845 S. Crismon.

- River Walking and Flow League - River Walking is available for ages 13 and up at the Mesa Aquatic Complex, 1630 E. Southern Ave., and the Flow League is available for ages 10 and up at the FlowRider at Rhodes Aquatic Complex, 1860 S. Longmore. There are beginner Flow leagues for 10+ and intermediate and advanced leagues for 13+ for August, September and October

- Pumpkin Splash - There are two separate Pumpkin Splash sessions Saturday, Oct. 25 at Stapley Aquatic Complex, 5250 E. Hermosa Vista. Afternoon Harvest is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Fright Night is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $7, which includes the pumpkin, and pre-registration is required.
