City of Mesa Announces Lane Restrictions on Ellsworth Road for Street Maintenance
Mesa, AZ - The City of Mesa will begin street maintenance along Ellsworth Road between Ray Road and Elliot Road. Work will occur in phases during off-peak hours, with one travel lane open and two lanes restricted. Drivers should allow extra time and expect delays in the area.
The maintenance work is scheduled as follows:
Phase 1: Southbound Ellsworth Road from Elliot to Warner will be restricted to one lane from Aug. 28 to Sept. 2, 2025, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Note: Restrictions will be removed over the Labor Day weekend.
Phase 2: Northbound Ellsworth Road from Warner to Elliot will be restricted to one lane from Sept. 3 to Sept. 5, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Phase 3: Southbound Ellsworth Road from Warner to Ray will be restricted to one lane from Sept. 8 to Sept. 10, 2025, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Phase 4: Northbound Ellsworth Road from Ray to Warner will be restricted to one lane from Sept. 11 to Sept. 15, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Motorists can use the following detour routes:
- When approaching from the east or southeast, use Signal Butte to Elliot Road.
- When approaching from the west, use Sossaman to Elliot Road.
Schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen factors.
The maintenance work is being done ahead of future plans to widen Ellsworth Road south of State Route 24 later this Fall.
