Mesa Police Labor Day Holiday Task Force

August 26, 2025 at 1:46 pm

Over the upcoming Labor Day weekend, the Mesa Police Department (MPD), will be out conducting DUI enforcement. The MPD Traffic unit will continue its support of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) DUI Labor Day Task Force beginning Friday, Aug. 29 until Monday, Sept. 1. Emphasized hours will take place from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). Saturation patrol for Monday will take place from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Local law enforcement agencies will participate in the annual DUI Task Force, a coordinated enforcement effort dedicated to improving public safety. The mission of the DUI Task Force is clear: to remove impaired drivers from the road, enhance roadway safety across the Valley, and reduce the number of collisions caused by impaired driving. By decreasing these preventable incidents, the task force aims to lower the number of injuries and fatalities directly linked to impaired driving, ultimately making our streets safer for everyone.

The Mesa Police Department encourages everyone to enjoy the holiday weekend responsibly and designate a driver or use a rideshare company.

Please report reckless, unsafe or suspected DUI driving to your local law enforcement. Mesa Police Department non-emergency line 480-644-2211.
