City of Mesa News
The City of Mesa's annual funding process has begun for agencies interested in applying for federal and local funding to support housing and community activities. These funds primarily benefit low- and moderate-income residents and help prevent or eliminate slum or blight.
Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations and affordable housing developers. Mesa anticipates the following amounts will be available for FY 2026/2027:
CDBG (Community Development Block Grant)
Public Service $275,656
Rehabilitation (set-aside for City projects) $2,389,016
Office of Homeless Solutions (set-aside for City projects) $275,656
Funding for Human Services programs comes from the City's General Fund and the A Better Community (ABC) program, which receives donations from residents made through utility bill contributions. These funds support services that promote community safety, encourage self-sufficiency and expand economic and social opportunities for residents.
The annual application process closes on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 11:59 p.m. Agencies can view the application process schedule online. Funding recommendations will be considered by the Mesa City Council next spring, following a 30-day public comment period.
