January 14, 2026 at 1:40 pm

Cambria Hotels - a brand known for design-forward spaces and upscale, locally inspired amenities - broke ground today in Mesa, offering a new level of hospitality to the city.

The four-story, 107-room hotel will feature a rooftop restaurant and bar which will be open to the public overlooking the surrounding desert and urban landscape, along with a lobby bar, outdoor pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, grab-and-go market, guest laundry facilities, meeting rooms, and EV charging stations. Renderings show a contemporary aesthetic designed to appeal to both business and leisure travelers seeking an elevated stay experience.

Developed by Aspect Hospitality Group, Clarity Strategic Opportunities, and O'Reilly Hospitality, LLC, the Cambria Hotel Mesa reflects the company's focus on creating thoughtful, experience-driven properties that serve the needs of today's travelers. The hotel, located at 3501 S. Ellsworth Road, is expected to open early in 2027. O'Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC will manage the property's day-to-day operations.

Said Tim O'Reilly, chief executive officer at O'Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC: "We are excited to become a member of the Mesa community and deliver our brand of world-class guest service to the community!"

The project arrives at a key moment for southeast Mesa.

"The addition of the Cambria Hotel Mesa strengthens our position in the region and adds an asset that will benefit visitors, employers, and residents alike," said Mayor Mark Freeman. "It's exciting to see this corridor continue to evolve, and we appreciate O'Reilly Hospitality for recognizing the potential here and choosing to invest in Mesa."

The project fits into the broader transformation reshaping Mesa's southeast corridor.

"Today's groundbreaking for the Cambria Hotel reflects the momentum we're seeing across southeast Mesa," said Vice Mayor Scott Somers. "As travel league sports, a growing business community and other regional draws continue to grow, so does demand for elevated hospitality options. I'm thrilled to welcome Cambria to District 6 and am confident they will meet the needs of today's visitors."

Project partners say the development reflects strong collaboration and long-term confidence in Mesa's growth and potential.

"Mesa stands as a dynamic hub of technology and industry, enveloped by a lively community including the Mesa Gateway Airport and the Arizona Athletic Grounds," said Gary Abraham, principal at AHG Mesa, LLC. "We're excited to meet the needs of this thriving market with a new 107-room upscale select-service Cambria hotel that features premium amenities perfectly tailored to welcome and delight traveling guests."

Matt Beary, principal at Clarity Strategic Opportunities, added: "We are thrilled to break ground on the Cambria Hotel Mesa after several years of planning alongside the City of Mesa, Choice Hotels, and other key partners who contributed to bringing this project to life. This development represents a meaningful investment in the community, and we look forward to delivering a hotel that supports Mesa's continued growth."
