Help Shape the Future of Mesa

February 25, 2026 at 5:54 pm

Want to make a real impact in your community? The City of Mesa invites residents to learn about opportunities to serve on its advisory boards and committees at a special open house on Tuesday, March 3, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Post, 26 N. Macdonald.

This interactive event gives residents the opportunity to explore current and upcoming openings on 17 City advisory boards and committees. Attendees can meet City staff, ask questions and learn how their skills, experience and passion can help influence local policies, programs and services.

Mesa's boards and committees play a vital role in advising City leadership and City Council on issues that directly affect the community. Whether your interests include arts and culture, transportation, public safety, sustainability or neighborhood quality of life, there's likely a board where you can make a difference.

Applicants must be a Mesa resident, at least 18 years old and be willing to serve a three-year term (with a two-term limit).

At the open house, prospective applicants can select up to three boards or committees of interest. Applications are reviewed by the City Clerk's Office. If a board does not have a current vacancy, applications are kept on file for up to 18 months for future consideration. Board appointments are recommended by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.
